  • Just sayin’

    Do you give advice? Nope!!

  • Standing there behind the tree.

in 2019, my husband‘s, Duane, work sent us out to the Western Hills of South Dakota for four months. We were going to stay in the beautiful Spearfish area nestled in the pines. The campground was pretty nice and the owners were fantastic. I looked forward to going and whiling away my days painting and praying without the interruption of home and garden chores. I knew that we would be located between two large Native American reservations and the Holy Spirit pressed upon my heart to pray for these people, especially the missing women. I was led to walk and pray over the area we camped by daily for the Holy Spirit to bring restitution to this place here in the Black Hills per Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of arestitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. It was dawning on me that I was being given a new task by God. This was aligning along with my prayer language recently changing into a softer more conversational Indigen sound causing within me an awareness of my soul having some pretty in depth conversations with the Holy Spirit. this included more vivid visions and a knowing that we were to visit the Devils Tower butte in Wyoming to pray for the land. Our times in the westernHills were great, lots of sightseeing, lots of communing with Jesus, lots of painting, and some traveling between there and home. Towards the end of our stay, I was led to go home and bring back a print of the piece I called Soar and gift it to the campground owner. She graciously accepted it and hung it in her home. We still had not been to the Tower as every time we ventured in that direction, the worst hail storms would kick up and ground us in a deep fog that would prevent us from seeing the monolith. it was starting to get weird. Supernatural weird. I prayed against it and left the weather conditions along with the timing of our Tower visit to God. It wasn‘t long and the day came when Du said he was being sent to another project and that we would be going home soon and if we wanted to see Devils Tower it was now or not at al. We drove over to Wyoming that next weekend and crazy enough! the weather was beautiful and clear as almost every other day that summer. We went. We sat amongst the prayer ribbons tied to the trees and looked out upon the vista and prayed. For the prayers offered up. For those that prayed them. For the land they lived on. Forvyhe memories it held. Mission complete and thank you Jesus for our time of respite here and to all the its glory to you and home to Minnesota we went to our regular lives of people, projects and home. The new work season of 2020 started with us being sent back to the Hills. Woot! Great! Since it was the pretty much the same area I made reservations at the same campground. Du was hoping for place a little closer so he would have little daily commute time. He was thinking Sturgis. Sturgis! The place of endless bars and lot’s of motorcycles! Nope! And the only place I found suitable for a long term stay had the craziest, goofiest name that I could not get past. So after “a talk“ we loaded up the camper and off we went back to the same campground as before. We had no more shut off the truck when the owner came running over and told me "now do not be mad but I had to give that print away." I told her that that was perfectly fine but why? She then told me the story of a lady that had come to stay with her during the last bike rally to recover from a fall. It seems every time the lady looked at the painting, Soar, she could see things in it that no one else could. She said it spoke to her soul. She knew it was for her and this feeling was confirmed to all of the household as she was healed of her injury. Well thank you Jesus! It was about two weeks into our stay when Du arrived back at the end of his long day and said we need to move on down the road to the Sturgis area. No!! Not to the land of bars and pavement and little else! But the job is the job and we moved. the owner came to say good bye and said it was a shame we had to go but hoped that we had enjoyed staying in one if three of her best lots. I asked her why it was one of her best? Well because of the view! with that I became aware of that for our entire time there, both years! We had a primo unobstructed view of the hills. Everyone else had views if another camper. I had completely taken it for granted! And in the usual Plains State style, we continued to say good bye for another half hour. At last we left. Onward and upward to the new site. Just as we hit the freeway, we saw a big RV camper lose its tow car and create chaos directly ahead of us. A sign! I knew it! We were nor supposed to go! But go we still went. As we pulled up to the new campground office to register, they explained that what we saw was the main campground, which by the way was not a parking lot and bar, and that people like us that were there for a longer duration were put in the back for peace and privacy. We followed the guy in his golf cart down around cabins to a small dirt road and went up into the trees. And all of a sudden we came around a bend and it all opened up into a terraced setting equalling the grandest of amphitheater's! And we were to be parked at the very top, alone on a terrace overlooking it all! It was almost paradise. Our days settled into routine and I sat at the little table and painted and prayed. i was awakened to the beauty of the Black Hills and would not take it gor granted again. One morning my attention was drawn out the window to someone peering at me from the trees mere yards away. I looked again! I saw an ancient man, a Native American warrior, dressed in buckskin type pants with his hair tied back. My attention was drawn me to light colored bracelet he was wearing on his left wrist. He held no weapons and His hands were open. Now having seen ghosts, demons and the supernatural for so long I rebuked him and sent him to Jesus. He did not move. I rebuked him again. He did not move. I asked the Holy Spirit "what gives?" I rebuked him again and spoke the verse from Romans 14:11 For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God". He knelt. So again I asked the Holy Spirit "what gives?" I heard "watch". I heard "listen". All at once he pointed to the bottom of the basin we were camping in and visions began streaming through my thoughts. Visions of an Indigen tribe enjoying their day together in the sunshine, singing, cooking and dancing and worshiping their Creator, our God. Their God, Same God. Children were playing. The time was in the later 1800s. The visions were of horse drawn wagons of missionaries arriving into this camp. People, who in the Name of God, berated these First People calling them “heathens“ while demanding the children to be brought to the mission school to be reformed. Ahhh! So thats why I was there. That was no sign on the freeway with the RV! that was a ploy by the evil one to dissuade us from going. It did not want us to pray for these victimized people who used to be let alone to stand in the gap for them and ask God to bless them, the area or heal the memories that this land was holding on to. I went outside and walked the entire basin area praying in tongues. For these people who left thus world more than a hundred years ago. To ask forgiveness for what once happened. To ask God to bless the time, the people, the land and in His mercies remove the seeds of ugly ignorance these missionaries left behind. This unretouched picture is where I saw the women dancing in a circle. It seemed like minutes but it was over an hour later when I went left to walk back up to the camper. As I left, I saw the vision of these women stopping their dance and wave at me in acknowledgment. I saw them. They saw Jesus in me. The gentleman was now gone. Whatever had happened was now in Gods good hands.. As you are a Christian... do the same in your own home and neighborhood. God does not care who said what or did what, healings need to happen.

  • What is a seer? Well, me for one.

WHAT IS A SEER.....? By Bob Jones What is a seer? A seer is everything. Prophets are the eyes, but seers are the entire head: eyes, smell, taste and feelings. That is what Isaiah 29:10 says: He has shut your eyes, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, the seers. A seer is everything. I like to use a hot loaf of bread to explain this gifting. With your eyes open, you can see it. But if your eyes are closed, I can tell you it is there, and you will be able to "see" it with your ears. I can put it under your nose, and you can smell it. I can put it in your mouth, and you can taste it. You can feel it in your hands. As a seer, you can move in all five realms, and because of that, you are more discerning. The enemy is never able to fully shut you down. The prophet can be momentarily blinded, but if the enemy blinds you, you will still be able to hear, smell, taste and feel. If the enemy comes against your feelings, you'll still be able to see, hear, smell and taste. A seer prophecies by all five senses, and so the seers move in stronger discernment. What does this look like? There may be times when you hear a prophecy, and a bad taste will come into your mouth. Your taste is discerning. "This isn't God". But other times when you hear a prophecy, you'll start tasting gold. Whenever I taste gold, I know, "Man that's it. I want to get all if this." God communicates with you through your senses. It takes longer to become a mature seer that to become a mature prophet, because all five senses are involved. You have to learn how to discern your feelings, because there will be times when feelings come to you in ministry and they're not your feelings. And if you take them personally, you won't be active. The one thing the Church has been taught against is feelings. But that's where you, as a seer, are the most accurate. You can take on how other people are feeling and know exactly how to minister to them. You can move right into their "living room" (their minds) and see what the problem is. You can feel what the person is feeling: depression, self-rejection, joy, anger, happiness. You can feel where they're coming from and know exactly what to go for as you pray for them. So the seer is really strong in deliverance ministry. The prophet can speak the future, but the seer can see what the people need to let go of in the past, tell them what the Lord is saying to them today, and declare what the Lord is offering them tomorrow. You can go right into their minds and see where the pain is coming from and what is still affecting and controlling their lives. Seers can help people forgive—usually themselves, help clean their minds out, and invite the Lord there. Seers can knock on a person's front door, come in, and visit with that person without saying a word. A prophet can only prophecy as the faith arises. A lot of times, a prophet is just a person who really comes forth in faith, and that faith activates him so he can speak clearly. That is what Nathan the prophet was. He prophecies by the faith that rose in him. But a seer can have all five senses. A seer can feel the strongholds of a town. If you enter a town and feel lust, lust owns that town. I you feel depression, it's a depressed place. As you come in there, you'll take on the feelings of that town, country, or person, whether they are good or bad. You'll know where there is self-rejection, because of what you feel. If you're ministering to somebody who has self-rejection, you'll feel it coming at yourself, and you must never take any of these things personally. One of the strongest things to minister to is spirits of self-rejection. Suicidal spirits come through these spirits. A seer will feel these things. if you think they are coming from yourself, you will be totally unprofitable. So you need to have all these senses sanctified and be able to tell, This is not me. I am not in self-rejection. I love myself. I can taste and see that He is good. You can also smell what's happening. You can discern what's wrong with a church or a city of even a nation, because you can smell it. You can smell sin, corruption, and holiness. That's what 2 cor. 2:14 says: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place." So you can smell the sweet incense of the Lord. You can smell His presence when He comes out of people, for the kingdom is inside of us. You can actually smell when a person really yields to God. (*Bob gave me this scripture after he took us to heaven in 2014 and I smelled a sweet floral fragrance. He said I was smelling myself. ) You can discern what’s going in with people through their incense. You can do it with your taste: "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8). You can do it through your feelings, through your sight, through the things you hear. Seers are kicked out of a lot of churches, because you are the least understood of all the gifts. You are one who feels like you don't fit any place except with other seers. Because of your revelation and dreams and the way God communicates with you, people think you're loony. But when churches reject you, they're bidding good-bye to their own mercy. As a seer, you are there for mercy. You are there to help bring healing to the people and show them what God is doing. It's time for the seer to come forth. The Church needs you. It is time for the seer to mature and be used.

  • Raise up an Army of Butterflies

This is RENEW In basic primary colors to signify getting back to the basics In Christianity, the butterfly symbolizes the resurrection of Christ. “For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." 1 Corinthians 15:52. The “church” is changing. As a caterpillar disappears into its cocoon, appearing dead and after a time it emerges, transformed into something more beautiful and powerful, a butterfly. "So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body." 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 The church belongs to Jesus, who not only is in charge of it but knows what He is doing with it, is now being reborn into Him and without our needs for separate religions in structures used only to sanctify our ceremonies. These rings on the sill are symbolic as coins on a headstone Along side a bud vase with a cut and dying flower. Ephesians 4: 11 “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” It is important for our personal well being as a community and for our collective family of God to act on “what would Jesus do? Well.... Luke 14:6 says, "Jesus went back to Nazareth, where he'd been brought up and as usual he went to the meeting place on the Sabbath." Imagine what would happen if we all showed up and were ready to pray and worship Him together? New meeting place… hmmmm… have a seat. Lets talk to Jesus together. Until the other side then. ~Denise

  • The Earth is Flat? Still?

t says in Psalms 97:2 Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne" and His spotlight is upon the earth and His Children. And it is combined with Amos' 7:8 And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more... This is called Spotlight. God sees. As I painted this, it was done as I was shown. The map, the plumb line remains true, and all work must line up with it bringing His children together. Making a difference. Staying in His light.

  • The world is your oyster.

Well how can the world be my oyster if I have sand in my eyes?! More from the category, Fruits of the Spirit, brings this painting called Open Heart. It depicts the last three of the seven parables told in the book of Matthew. The Hidden Treasure and the Pearl of Great Value depicting the Kingdom of God together with the Fishing Net representing the Final Judgement. First, the parable of the Hidden Treasure. "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field." — Matthew 13:44. Secondly the parable of the Pearl of Great Value. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Matthew 13:45-46 And third, the final judgement decreed in the Parable of the Net. "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a dragnet, that was cast into the sea, and gathered some fish of every kind, which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach. They sat down, and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away. Matthew 13:47-52 We are now living for the Kingdom of Heaven should we choose Jesus. To seek the only true unconditional love and to know that our willing hearts are safe as His greatest treasure. To grasp the opportunities that His life has to offer. To wield the sword of His Word to open up your life to the best of the best. Jesus answers His disciples query "Then who can be saved?' But Jesus looked at them and said, 'For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.'" Matthew 19:25-26. After all, the world (with Him) is your oyster. This phrase was created by William Shakespeare in his play 'The Merry Wives of Windsor’spoken by the character called Pistol who said “Why then the world's mine oyster, Which I with sword will open.” Luke says in 11:34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is... I saw the oyster shell cradled in the net, wide open and holding close the human heart sitting in kinship with the precious pearl. Both are being refined and made beautiful by irritants. Job said in 28:18 "Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned; And the acquisition of wisdom is above that of pearls." Hmmm...is this an early version of "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"? Probably not. I heard the song Open the Eyes to Your Heart ..."Open the eyes of my heart, Lord. Open the eyes of my heart. I want to see You. I want to see You..." And what’s an oyster without lemons. After all, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Yeah... I went there. 😏 but seriously... don’t give up. Keep going! Lemony yellow is the symbol of happiness and optimism. So go ahead and shuck it all for your eternal life in heaven with Jesus. Open your heart “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”~ John 15:1-2 You will bloom. You will grow. Seek His peace and I will see you on the other side.

  • Dreams do come true.

Thomas Merton had said “For each one of us, there is only one thing necessary, to fulfill our own destiny, according to God's will, to be what God wants us to be.” My destiny is to be an artist who creates visual messages from the Holy Spirit for others and paint their feathers. “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” (Psalm 91:4) This “feather” painting is for a dear friend who is embarking on her dream. As I painted this my intent was to create this is multiples of blue. But I kept seeing yellow. Yellow is the color of the sun, full of happiness, optimism, confidence and feeling good about yourself so yellow it goes! This shop has been her dream since she was a little girl and as I prayed on this, I saw her little self handing a rose to her future self in letting her know that its true " that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" just like it says in Romans 8:28. And a red rose for true love. And just as I was finishing up I saw in my heart to paint in the classic storefront pony ride. And not just any of the coin operated ride but a Champion. As a reminder to her that God knows her dreams, her desires and that she is one of His champions. I had read Bev Herring who said that “it is not easy to become a champion. . .it takes determination. . .practice. . .exercise. . .discipline and, yes. . . commitment to never give up, give in, back up, back down, sit down, quit or walk away until victory is achieved.” And in yellow! I thought maybe orange but nope...yellow. And also a sign from God she said. How so! The Champion horse ride was symbolic of her ex-husband whose name meant a champion. it seems they were asking God for a sign that they should end their long divorce and reunite their marriage and family. And they did. In her words “The band is back together. “ So here is Pocketbook of Dreams. An oil on gallery wrapped canvas with my best wishes to Janelle for establishing her dreams :)

  • wainscoting. Go big or go home.

when you have a small 3’x7’ powder room with 9’ ceilings what do you do to keep out the claustrophobia? Go big! Up from a harlequin inspired black and white tiled floor I added wainscoting 54“ high in white with a painted charcoal gray upper that is soaring up to a white ceiling. And add a large print!

  • STOP! In the Name of Love!

I hear the song by the Moody Blues... Once upon a time Once when you were mine I remember skies Mirrored in your eyes I wonder where you are I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time In your wildest dreams In your wildest dreams... This is called Spirit. Once upon a time when God first created the heavens and the earth, He envisioned paradise and then that snake and apple thing happened and alas there it went. But He's given us another chance. We just need to ask for the help of our Counselor, the Holy Spirit. He waits. When Jesus was nearing His trial and crucifixion, He promised his apostles that He would ask God to send them His Holy Spirit. Jesus wanted the Holy Spirit also to be sent to anyone else who believes in Him, in Jesus. The Holy Spirit would remain with them all after Jesus died, was resurrected and returned to the Father.Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would teach them and remind them of everything that Jesus had already taught them John 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commands. 16 and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever- 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." And there it was. A train window view with a lone white horse coming towards it. And to stop and go out to Him, pull the cord. This just might be the stop you have waited for your whole life. Hebrews 9:28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. Revelations 19:11 Now, I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. That horse will be ridden by Jesus. Till the other side then.

  • Soar!

Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. This is SOAR! Growing up in Southwestern Minnesota, the summer Pow Wows were a wonder to behold. The Sioux Nation together as men, women and children would perform the Eagle Dance to the Great Spirit asking for a blessing on the people as they replicated the soaring of the eagle, their symbol of the Great Spirit. Quanah Parker, of the Comanche Nation, said "We do not go into ceremony to talk about God. We go into ceremony to talk with God." I like that. https://youtu.be/dpztvjBhhb4 i do not own the rights to this beautiful music. All Nations. No picking. No choosing. All. When Jesus returns to this world to rule over all the nations as King of Kings as "the body" and the eagles are His faithful who will congregate at the resurrection when He returns to this world. Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of Zechariah 14:9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name. And where will you be? But in the meantime, FLY! Soar on the path God set before you.

  • Sharing the love!

The best part of knowing how to do something is sharing how to do it with those who wish to learn. I am so very proud that this teaching resulted in a beautiful dining set being brought out of years of storage and infused with the time, energy, recovering, repairing legs, sanding, removing veneer, stenciling, staining, varnishing and finally polishing to a one of a kind treasure while retaining childhood memories that money cannot buy or new can be replace. Lori I am so pleased and proud for you and of you! You did an exceptional thing! Thank you for being bold with me to create this design. Wanna see the way before photos?!

  • I Eliza Doolittle'd her.

There she stood. Alone in the corner. No one seemed to want her as her top was covered in dust and linoleum. What? Linoleum? Yes. A hearty little girl she was but she needed a home. We paid the $20 for her and tossed her in the trunk... I worked with what she was. Her scars told an old story that I did not want erased. Just eased. she was stained. Dirty With a Cheap vinyl top. So I Eliza Doolittle'd her with a good scrubbing, vintage traveled stickered her face and as well as gave her a new paint job. We love her. She serves us very well and is an excellent remote holder.

  • Why are some creative people, at times prolific in their work, and other times not productive?

It is a basic premise. Stated best in Ecclesiastes 3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. which sums it up perfectly. All else is moot.

  • Throughout your creative life, which outlet of creativity have you used to express yourself?

Thank you for the request to hear me. Because I was born an ambidextrous-ed brained artist, I have found the gift in creating in every single step I have taken on my path. I refer to it as “art on and beyond the canvas”. I paint. I create. I house flip. I putter. I potter. In the house. Outside the house. I rehab furniture. I make new furniture. I crochet. I macrame. I fish. I cook. I bake. I can. I landscape. I organize. I compartmentalize. I teach. I am taught. I design homes. I design utility power grids. I understand colors. I understand solar stations and wind power. I write poetry. I see life as poetry. I read. I write. And I blog these things now. This list is but a few. But none of these are outlets. They are just the exhales of my soul inhaling Gods goodness. I am an artist. I am Denise Renee. This is just who I am. shameless plug here….
