Dreams do come true.

Denise R Dahlheimer

Thomas Merton had said “For each one of us, there is only one thing necessary, to fulfill our own destiny, according to God's will, to be what God wants us to be.”

My destiny is to be an artist who creates visual messages from the Holy Spirit for others and paint their feathers. “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” (Psalm 91:4)

This “feather” painting is for a dear friend who is embarking on her dream. As I painted this my intent was to create this is multiples of blue. But I kept seeing yellow. Yellow is the color of the sun, full of happiness, optimism, confidence and feeling good about yourself so yellow it goes!

This shop has been her dream since she was a little girl and as I prayed on this, I saw her little self handing a rose to her future self in letting her know that its true " that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" just like it says in Romans 8:28. And a red rose for true love. And just as I was finishing up I saw in my heart to paint in the classic storefront pony ride. And not just any of the coin operated ride but a Champion. As a reminder to her that God knows her dreams, her desires and that she is one of His champions. I had read Bev Herring who said that “it is not easy to become a champion. . .it takes determination. . .practice. . .exercise. . .discipline and, yes. . . commitment to never give up, give in, back up, back down, sit down, quit or walk away until victory is achieved.” And in yellow! I thought maybe orange but nope...yellow. And also a sign from God she said. How so! The Champion horse ride was symbolic of her ex-husband whose name meant a champion. it seems they were asking God for a sign that they should end their long divorce and reunite their marriage and family. And they did. In her words “The band is back together. “

So here is Pocketbook of Dreams. An oil on gallery wrapped canvas with my best wishes to Janelle for establishing her dreams :)

Art! On the Outskirts is the new project of entreating mountains via

art on and beyond the canvas, exploring how faith, nature, and creativity intersect.

This project is a journey of discovering the depths of faith with art as a tool to sustain healing in my life.

I may not walk on water as Jesus did, but I am staying afloat through life lessons.

Go Back! this is THE END of my blog!

If the world was flat, you would  now fall off here :)
