Make a move? or Stop short?

Denise R Dahlheimer

So he said to the (paralyzed) man,

"I tell you,

get up,

take your mat

and go home.”

This is from Mark chapter 2 about the story of the paralyzed man's healing. It is Powerful!! Incredibly powerful. His friends went to great lengths to get him there to see Jesus. They obviously cared about him or maybe they just need help at work, either way they all knew Jesus could help. And Jesus did! He saw the effort they had put forth and granted them their request. He said “Son, your sins are forgiven” And then the “authorities” piped up and tried to undo all of it by negating Jesus’ authority to forgive. How many of us use our crippling reasons or excuses to not make the move?"

How many times have we felt the urge to make a call, do the thing, stick with what we know out of comfort or fear, not gift, not relinquish, not give in, not back down, not give another a second chance, refuse to see "it" from "their" point of view, hang on to ideals, or have hidden your love of Jesus rather than be laughed at…? Jesus not only negated these teachers authority but He did one better. He not only forgave the man but healed him as well. Jesus loves us. Jesus fights for us. Jesus always wins.

And said (to you) Get up, take your mat. And go home.

You either will or you won't... Whose authority will you abide by? Till the other side then.

Art! On the Outskirts is the new project of entreating mountains via

art on and beyond the canvas, exploring how faith, nature, and creativity intersect.

This project is a journey of discovering the depths of faith with art as a tool to sustain healing in my life.

I may not walk on water as Jesus did, but I am staying afloat through life lessons.

Go Back! this is THE END of my blog!

If the world was flat, you would  now fall off here :)
