The Road Less Traveled. GO!

Denise R Dahlheimer

Isaiah 66:22, "As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me," declares the LORD, "so will your name and descendants endure".Interesting that "The Center of the Nation" in South Dakota is celebrated 22 miles away with an official granite monument in a proper Visitors Center. Obviously more convenient as it is closer to major highways, parking lots, rest rooms, as well as the local pizza joint.

I visited the true center known as being " a small metal pole stuck into a pasture, off of a gravel road". Surrounded by sheep. A sea of grass. And a sign lettering YESHUA. But it was the stacked rock holding a rugged wooden cross that brought about the memories. Seems like I've heard this scenario before but it involved a manger. And out here in the the middle of nowhere, I felt like I found my way home.

The Center. 2019 Denise R. Dahlheimer

I walked out to the wind pole and listened as I recalled my childhood hearing my gram singing hymn "The Old Rugged Cross".

...On a hill far away, stood an old rugged Cross

The emblem of suff'ring and shame

And I love that old Cross where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain

So I'll cherish the old rugged Cross

Till my trophies at last I lay down

I will cling to the old rugged Cross

And exchange it some day for a crown

Oh, that old rugged Cross so despised by the world

Has a wondrous attraction for me

For the dear Lamb of God, left his Glory above

To bear it to dark Calvary...

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Yes! There will be a new heaven and earth. Go! Step through the gate. I look forward to seeing you on the other side.

And this is The Center. Blessings till then.

Art! On the Outskirts is the new project of entreating mountains via

art on and beyond the canvas, exploring how faith, nature, and creativity intersect.

This project is a journey of discovering the depths of faith with art as a tool to sustain healing in my life.

I may not walk on water as Jesus did, but I am staying afloat through life lessons.

Go Back! this is THE END of my blog!

If the world was flat, you would  now fall off here :)
