Remnant II. One room schoolhouse.

Denise R Dahlheimer

This is called A Remnant in Time. It is the second in a series of putting to memories to paint. In Proverbs 22:6 the bible says Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. The Holy Spirit is walking me thru my history and healing me as we go. I would like to share that as I painted this abandoned one room in a memory of playing in the schoolhouse outside of Jeffers, MN in southwestern Minnesota, I remember the hot summer sun, how cold the water was coming from the pump and made colder by communal tin cup hanging from it, the smell of the corn, riding on the fender of the tractors, living out loud. I knew that my family consisted of the older children, the aunts, the uncles, the grandparents, and the cousins. Windows and doors, like hearts, were never locked. Jesus blessed me greatly when He put me in this family of mine.

He wants it done with kindness and love as He does for us. "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." ( John 13:34-35). Especially the children.

UPDATE!! The original is now at home on display at the Jeffers City Hall amongst the historical memorabilia of the village history. :) I could not be more pleased!! or honored.

Art! On the Outskirts is the new project of entreating mountains via

art on and beyond the canvas, exploring how faith, nature, and creativity intersect.

This project is a journey of discovering the depths of faith with art as a tool to sustain healing in my life.

I may not walk on water as Jesus did, but I am staying afloat through life lessons.

Go Back! this is THE END of my blog!

If the world was flat, you would  now fall off here :)
