More often than not, our good intentions of working so hard to “get everybody saved in Jesus” that we become an obstacle, or a stumbling block, to those very same people.
We are to be a light per Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.“ Oh, and by the way! the good works part comes AFTER your salvation is secure as you cannot use these deeds to enter heaven,
They will know we are Christians by our love so just end the war and give Jesus room to work. Have just one last talk with them and tell them why you love Jesus in 30 words or less including and ending in why you wish them to know Jesus as well.
Then state meaningfully and truthfully that you will never bring it up again and that its their life and their death and that your heart will always be open to them.
This aligns with Mark 6:11, “And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”
And give them to God! And leave them there.
What this does is that it takes away the fight and God can minister to them per Isaiah 55:8, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. 9 As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
He knows what He is doing. Stop beating them up.
One last thing… if your life is not a testament to the love and compassion of the Lord you serve, plan on attending a “Come to Jesus” meeting with Him.
