Perched on top of the iron nails that crucified our Jesus is a Monarch butterfly. It is said that to see one is a pretty good sign that you are on the right path in achieving your goals. Good to know! When my children were younger, they brought in a cocoon from the garden. A mason jar, grass blades, a stick and a lid with air holes made up its new home. Soon enough a Monarch butterfly emerged from the cocoon releasing a blood red liquid. Science says it was digestive juices but to a child it bled as it was born to live free.
This crucifixion cross made up of iron nails, a symbol of hope and rebirth through metamorphosis. Jesus bled. For us to live free.
The Native American woman’s ribbon skirt, a symbol of hope and rebirth through metamorphosis. They bled. For their people to live free.
All sacred. To our Creator. God. He has seen. He has heard. He promises... Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
Out in the western Hills of South Dakota this painting came forth. From my camper I had visions of Native women dancing in a circle to the Great Creator, God. Yep! Ours. The One and only. Some of these beautiful women were wearing a ribbon skirt where others were wearing a jingle dress. All dancing in praise of Our Father. From multiple sources came the prayer over and over again as I was led to paint this. It is called To Bleed. Created in oils in for Our Father at the request of The Holy Spirit who validated it through Luke 11.
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;...
You have me. Until the other side then or at the bakery. Whichever comes first.
